Does anyone else come out looking ridiculously bad in pictures?

I find that I cant take a good picture for shit, but girls treat me like im damn near a male model when my looks are concerned.. n not just when im using game either...

I've had girls who saw me on myspace see me in the mall n say "Damn you look way better in person, its like the opposite as most people"

but I still cant take a picture to save my life..? how do u look good in pics?

google how to look good in pictures, it pulls up a bunch of info. Also just analyze your own photos and ask yourself what you want changed and what you think looks good about yourself. Im doing this now.

Cheers man!

webcam chatting really taught me alot.

It seems like.. As a knee jerk reaction, I over emote under the pressure of the camera being on me... so whatever I'm feeling gets over emoted and looks goofy..

kinda like.. when the nerdy kid hears a joke from the hot girl and laughs waaaaaaaaayy too much n looks like a dork...

like that but instead of laughing its facial expressions..

its gonna take dicipline n self awareness to stop doing this.. I think im gonna do alot more webcam chatting to get comfortable being on camera..

The thing that gets me is people's insistence that you SMILE. I'll do a face that looks perfectly good in photographs, I look happy in it, but people insist that you have a massive cheesy grin that shows lots of teeth before they will take it, and that doesn't look good for me, since it's something I never do in real life, it looks totally fake and goofy. The best thing is to think of something funny. A genuine laugh looks much better than a forced and fake grin.

To be honest isin't the skill of "looking good in photo's" the same as any other skill. ie: practise makes perfect.

I know this girl who has the same, fixed pose for every single photo she poses in. And every time her head is slightly tilted to the left with a nice whole sexy smile with a sparkle in her eyes. She's clearly perfected this pose to a "T" and now uses it constantly while being photo'd.

So yeah, practise makes perfect.

I had an ex that was way into putting pictures of herself on facebook etc. Well she would take like 50 pics of herself in one sitting. Cause every pic would have one defect in it. Pretty much you need to take lots of pictures and methodically fix the next one. Get a camera take a picture if your eyes aren't open enough fix it if you have a bad shadow fix the lighting if you whatever keep fixing it till its perfect.

I figured it out...

i did a photoshoot w. my boy whos into photography..

Its really just about ur personal level of comfort, your focus and how your body language and facial expressions telegraph ur emotions..

I started out taking the WORST pictures ever.. I looked sooooo stiff.. But Soon i loosened up a lil and it came out better, Then I started looking for things to focus on like cars driving by and people etc so I wouldnt think about myself.. Then I put music on and did that and the pics were just progressively becoming better and better.. now when I take pics of myself i pretend the cameras not there and I come out looking real relaxed and expressive.. so yeah.. the main ingredient id say is focus.. not your focus on the picture cuz it looks awkward to seem to into the picture.. But your focus on not focusing on your self is prob the best tool here...

Yes, a photo can capture very accurately how you feel on that exact moment. I've worked as a photographer in various studios and found out that having a laugh, drink with the girls and good music helped a LOT. I actually had a wii in the studio so we could fool around with it a bit, it makes shoots really comfortable and safe.

Also, if you have problems with an "extra chin", pull your tongue back, or "swallow" and hold your tongue/throat like that. That trick makes you lose at least 10kg on pictures. :P
