Don't knock the post before you read it, especially since I'm sure many of you have thought it. The core belief of creating these nicknames that I'm sure many of you at one point in time have thought are totally stupid, is really basic. People got into PUA stuff usually because they weren't happy with themselves at the time. They felt unconfident, not funny, not a sexual person but wanted to be, not good looking enough, etc. The list goes on and on. But what this comes down to is that these nicknames have been a way for people to escape that self-identity. You're not "James the loser". You're Ace. You're confident and good looking and a sexual person, and you're hilarious. It helps you set yourself in the mindframe that is different than how you actually feel about yourself.

I have a pseudonym, not a nickname. I don't introduce myself to girls as "trixsta" - I doubt many people do.

Mine's just for anonymity.

Exactly, people have these "nicknames" (which should be more appropriately called pseudonyms as stated above) for the anonymity. And also for the off chance that a girl might google your name and come up with all these FR/LR, the "nickname" is to prevent that.

yeah as stated above, its just a username/nickname or whatever....

like you get on youtube, yahoo or most forums
and you're revealing pretty personal information sometimes about your problems inside you and your women.

dont want a chick coming on here and saying "i know a guy called tony and we were in that situation!" as i think it did happen before nicknames came common, i think i read it in the Game but i may be wrong.

think of it as a username but i guess getting to be a different 'person' might give them a break from day to day hassle.

I don't get the "we use nicknames so they can't find us online" angle. This board is readable by guests, for example. If she looks up "Art Sandusky" she'd find this place. If she looks up "Patrick Long Dong Silver" (not my real name, but I'm contemplating a legal change) she won't and instead get my Facebook page or something which is totally harmless.

Nowadays PU is more open to being discovered. And many PUA's are tottaly comfortable with people in their life knowing about what they do. The whole NickName thing is just a forum do dah.

I will refer to Vaj here as Vaj/Jav, in real life I'll call him Thomas. Madals is Madals here, but on msn it's Adam.... Simple as.

Question: What does ego gratification and self delusion have to do with homosexuality?

Nah , People have nicknames not because of a alter ego but because . One their easy to remember and two . it makes it harder to find them in real life . Search zappo on facebook im sure you wont find me :)

and besides some girls google the guys they are seeing

Well obviously we are all gay... Thats why we have those gay names... Did you think we were discussing picking up girls here? ;)

Its just a screen name, to not show my real name and home adress and shoe size to everyone in the world. People who know you know more about who you are.

You dont actually think that I introduce myself as Ezo do you?
