A Sticking Point or SP is an issue you CONSISTENTLY run into.

It is NOT a point where you get stuck with ONE SPECIFIC GIRL.

A Sticking Point is:
Quote:
I keep getting LMR whenever I bring girls back to my place. This has happened at least 10 times already! What am I doing wrong?
A Sticking Point is NOT:
Quote:
I got LMR with this one girl! What do I do?
IT IS AGAINST THIS BOARD'S RULES TO POST THREADS ABOUT JUST ONE GIRL
If you have not already gone out and practiced enough to have a real Sticking Point from meeting an ABUNDANCE of women, YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO POST HERE.

I'm 25 and I work as an accounting manager for a software company. When I tell girls this I get the feeling they become intimidated when I tell them that. Usually they are younger than me and are still in school or are still working at pre-career levels if you know what I'm saying.

Once I drop the bomb, the conversation starts to get flat and I'm wondering if it's because the girls don't feel like they could measure up. Or is it because the job title sounds boring and not interesting? What do you guys think?

Its not what you say, its how you say.

Its not what you do, its how you do.

One thing i know for a fact is that body communicates a lot faster and more than words. So if you are telling them about your job and your body language is saying "i hate my job", then the girls will get that signal, call it intuition or subconscious, but they will get it, and why would a girl like a guy who doesn't even like himself?

Attach some excitement to your job, tell them stories that perhaps no other guy tells them. I am sure if i were given a group to open with my job as the worlds most pathetic and demeaning job, i'd still pull it off, why? Its not what you say, its how you say!

That makes sense. I usually mention what I do during the text game so I guess should elaborate with your suggestions once they ask. Thanks!

Two thoughts: 1) You could seek out more "high value" women rather than hitting on college girls. Yes, this does involve changing sarging venues. 2) You could disarm yourself with some C&F story. There are tons of ideas out there, like porn-theater janitor, pimp, drug dealer, etc. Use one or two of those before telling her what you really do. I concede, this works much better in real conversation.

Also, they may not be as impressed with what you do. Instead, they may just have no idea/interest in what an accounting manager at a software firm does. I mean let's be honest, who's sexier, the rock star or the Excel wiz?

^^ True. For me, I always avoid the "what do you do for a living?" conversation when I'm first getting to know a girl.

I'll usually just say something like, "important stuff."
haha, that usually is followed by a "what kind of stuff?"
Which then I'll reply, "secret stuff" with a sly smile. And then I'll immediately transition into a more interesting topic like movies, what she's wearing, blah blah blah.

All the advice you've gotten here is great. Follow any or all of it.
But take my suggestion it's integral to all of these.

Speak with passion. Answer her however you want but be passionate when you tell her your job. If you're not wild about you're job mention something you really love. My "routine" is like this

HB: whats you're job? ( or any variant)
me: I work at _______ (some crappy near minimum wage job i'm only 20)
But thats just to pay my bills I'm working towards a commission in the USMC.....
And for fun I love to take salsa lessons its epic fun......... What do you do for fun or are passionate about? (transition into date)
HB: Blah Blah Blah...

The point is, no one really like their job but you show the things you love most and when she sees that fire in your eyes HUGE DHV! But the intent isn't to brag. And you have to truly love that hobby/goal to pull it off

and btw find hobbies most women can join you in dancing, art, music, biking, hiking, cooking etc. Xbox and power-lifting are not female compatible most women don't like them so they don't count

Wow I wasn't expecting all this input. The main idea I got from all this is to definitely speak with enthusiasm and have good body language. I would like to believe though that this is a general rule for speaking to HBs anyways.

If I broke down your guys' other tips, this is what I gathered...

Fragnance: Add a DHV story. Probably necessary when speaking to a set.

Keksman: Seek out women who appreciate a stable man. Use C&F routine to lead in. Join a rock band?

Vietman100: Be coy and change subjects.

Da Veed: Move the conversation. Downplay yourself.

enrique: Mention career aspirations (I like this b/c I originally wanted to be a stock broker after graduating college last year but this is what I could get w/ the economy the way it is. I feel I could easily relay this.)

All interesting advice. Will use. Thanks guys.
