Hi,

I'd love to hear about how you guys handle people who act like total assholes. I've had this happen in my late openings a few times. The only thing I've come up with is just to remind them along the lines: "I don't know where you're from, but on planet Earth, we have a thing called manners."

It's a personal issue of mine loosing my cool with people who don't respect me... Please share.

My question is: how do you handle it and\or if you've learned to avoid it, how?

Personally, I try to befriend them and then beta them OR I use something simple like what you did or call them on something that they are doing.

"Awesome shirt man, I used to have one just like it back in highschool."
or
"Hey man, how do you know hb8 here? OH you don't. OH you just walked up... OH... I see.."

"Hey man, how do you know hb8 here? Oh from way back huh? Well then, are you two.... NO? Oh, you aren't... Oh I see.."

Most asshole or douchebags are pretty insecure, trust me I was one.
So when they try and call you out or insult you, you can do one of two things.

1) Give them a condescending look and pat them on the back and say "ok there buddy" or something of the sort.

2)Insult them back, usually if you're playing C&F, because it's an attitude of "I'm better than all of the chumps here" so it'll be incongruent if you take that lying down. When you insult them point out something that they're insecure about. But make sure that you don't come off as defensive, because that means you care about what he said and DLVs you. Instead come off as putting someone in there place and chuckle or smile when putting them down.

for example there was this fat asshole trying to interrupt my game at lunch.

asshole: [Dodger] LIKES MEN! (he just said it out of nowhere)
me: that doesn't mean much coming from a fat faggot with rosy pink cheeks.

He does have unnaturally pink cheeks so that was a personal stab, while his insult was a baseless generic one. DHV for me. And I didn't stand up and scream it at him and get all defensive, I stayed leaning back and said it with a grin on my face as if it was amusing for him to talk to me like that.

If played right, Destroying AMOGs is a huuuge DHV. but if botched, then you're whole game becomes incongruent and you come off as misleading and pathetic.

Of course, it's a much better alternative to gain the respect of assholes and douchebags because it's pretty impressive when people see that jerks and AMOGs respect you. It builds social proof.

My favorite thing to do if I am spitting game with a girl, is to tell them to be polite. Recently I was spitting game at a girl at lunch, this one guy got jealous of the attention I was receiving, and taps the girl on the opposite shoulder, so his arm was in between us repeating some stupid question over and over. I simply said "Whoa, we're having a conversation here, you don't just interrupt us, it's rude." The girl quickly backed down, but didn't want to look stupid in front of the girl, so he started tapping the closer shoulder. I had already proved my Alpha-maleness, so she took his hand off and said. "Me and [schaden] are talking." We then continued as he walked off.

If they just said something that's obviously stupid, just laugh loudly at them then remind them that they're just weeding themselves out of the gene pool. That usually confuses them for a bit.
