Thanks a ton for this post. Just went to the cologne store with my girlfriend a couple days ago. She loved Play.

Truthfully though, I've found different girls like different colognes. My ex- loved my Armani Code when I took her out on dates. My current g/f hates it.

Also my current g/f is non-responsive to a lot of my colognes I wear - hence why I took her with me to the cologne store.

What I suggest:

I suggest going to your cologne store and start collecting some of the best scents in each genre: such as light cologne, heavy, sweet, and etc.
Also different colognes smell differently on everyone.

I say throw all the rules out the window once you've got some sort of an idea about what you do and don't like in a scent.

go the sexy cologne on a lazy day in, go the classy cologne when you think you should reach for the sexy... sometimes that little bit of "hey why does this club smell of BMW" can be a good thing.

find your favorite cologne. wear it when getting very comfortable (say LTR potential) with a girl. nothing, and i mean nothing works better at keeping you in her thoughts like her having your signature scent left behind on her pillowcase.

oh, and if you have a less than great day 2 with a woman, but manage a day 3. wear a DIFFERENT cologne. scent memory can make some of the negative emotions surface.

oh, and avoid Aqua di Gio... every AFC wears it.

some of my personal favorites. Armani Code - classy, but great for day game too.

YSL Rive Gauche - classy. understated.

Kouros. spray 4 sprays of this bad boy and smell like pure sex. you will come off smelling like a toilet deodoriser if you haven't got the confidence to pull it.

YSL M7 Fresh - this is my scent. any woman i've been with more than once knows it's me just by smelling this. a few women hate it... and a few just drool.

actually women prefer the smell of other women (pussy) on a guy thats why I asked if anyone has tried using female perfume or the fruity shit they spray in there hair
for this i usually wear gucci rush. yeah its a girly perfume but its a sexy perfume for me its strong, fun, and sexy. otherwise i prefer Hugo boss- soul this perfume is me because it smells really classy it smells like your sophisticated lol

i read somewhere not to wear cologne, as opinions on certain colognes can be so polarized. what do you think?

2. Classy. Classy cologne is the type of cologne that when you smell you think "I don't know if I'm sophisticated enough to wear this" Classy cologne smells like your Dad. It smells like the stock-brocker and the guy driving a BMW. It implies and reflects the successes of an accomplished Man. Classy cologne goes along with the personality of a gentlemen, it isn;t for a college student doing keg stands. Like I said your cologne should reflect who you are. You don't have to be a forty year old lawyer to wear this though. If you have a dinner with your gf's parents or maybe a family dinner party or holiday celebration classy cologne is great, sexy cologne is not!
