This is the music video to the song 'What if' by Jason Derulo (link at the bottom of the page). You probably might be thinking 'Where is this twat going with this?', but I just want all of you to take a close look and interpret what is going on in the video, along with the lyrics of the song.

What I interpreted is that, if you don't approach a desirable girl, you could in fact have lost your future wife. Something as simple as saying 'I can't do it' or 'She's out of my league' could prevent you from changing your life dramatically whether it would be increasing your social circle, getting the confidence to approach again or in this video, miss out on 'THE ONE'.

'What if... What if I approached that cute girl in the park...'

While great in theory or sounds awesome logically, it's not how humans act.

If the fear of rejection is bigger than "meeting potential wife" then people will not approach. You either have to be in emotional fitness, such that the intensity of will pwer or courage is stronger than the fear in order to approach.

Hey,

I totally agree with what you are saying, but I think you have missed the point slightly. Even though in reality, people do not approach because their fear is bigger than their desire to approach; I'm posting this to allow people in the future to think about approaching in a deeper sense. If they do think about this before going out, it may give people a bit more incentive to approach. I'm not saying this is the magic pill to conquering approach anxiety, but I do think this will help give a little push to approach. After coming across this video, I have had more of an urge to approach simply because I think that I could be missing out on a potential best friend/wife/girlfriend etc if I do not approach.

Any more thoughts, please reply. I like to be open minded to other people's opinions

Magic, of course. The more you think of something the stronger you will feel about it. This is what happens with approach anxiety, people are so focused about it that it only makes is stronger. This is why it's better thinking productive things.

I agree with Magic J. The best way to look at things is you could have everything to gain in this one approach, so why not go for it. The worst thing that could happen is you dont do well. Yeah you might blow it with a girl who is potentially your future wife, but then again every set you approach there is gunna be at least one potential future wife.
