since learning about being a PUA i now look at conversatiions with girls way totally different, for instance at this college i go to i saw this girl(HB8) i knew in high school(not that long ago, i graduated this past year) and when i was talking to her i couldnt stay in the conversation because i was caught up in EC and IOIs (which she gave alot by the way ).

this continued throughout the day, how should i avoid being caught up in the moment? if you know what i mean

It is really hard to not get caught up especially when an attractive girl is making you feel great by throwing out IOI's. My suggestion is to just pretend she is unattractive so that the intimidation factor is lowered. I dunno if you have heard this saying but "everybody poops" is a good way to get back down to earth when some girl seems way above you. Also, if you fine tune your inner game, and are confident, you will feel great all the time there will not be much difference whether you are talking to a 3 or a HB10

I like to focus on enjoying the conversation and just let IOIs and all that register in the back of my mind. It makes you a much more believable performer that way too, because you aren't running lines, you're responding with your actual thoughts, but coloured with your PUA skills.

Hehe I compare your comment to getting a boner while going commando!! It is very difficult to sometimes not get caught up in the moment, especially if you have just started out like me, and perhaps aren't used to all the attention.

What works for me is rather odd for many, but may be of use to you. I tend to view the girl a friend/aquaintance whose done something to really piss me off, but also someone who I'd like to repair the relationship with. That way I view them and what I say with much more caution, especially because they have betrayed me in the past. They start throwing IOI's and I cautiously warm up.
