Haha if they look down it means they want you, did not know this! I used to practice eye contact on girls in town, I used to assume them looking at you, then you catch their eye and they look down was a bad sign.

yes & no. they can also fuck you over. when i got into pickup i already had my experience with girls. (self note - write down the story in blog). anyway, when i was natural i had no idea about IOI's. whenever i felt for kissing i did and things worked well in 95% of the time. When I got into this I found out about the magical IOI's. It happened that I was going on dates and instead of kissing whenever I felt like (just as I did in my past) I started looking for 3 IOI's. Eventually I lost the girl but it was a valuable experience.

Don't get too caught up on the idea of IOI's. They are good to be aware off. I know that some pickup guru's don't even pay attention to IOI's as they assume they are there It's great if you see them but even if you don't you always need to try escalating. There are passive IOI's as well. She might not show them but she could be down.

short story - i was on a double date once, 4-5 years ago. the girl was not into me and showed me IOD's. She was talking most of the date on her phone. Eventually when I drove her home at 2am I asked her if she wants to come over to my place to watch a movie. guess what? we never got to the movie =) I had a LMR but the fact is that she was naked in my bed.

IOI + IOD are nice but they are not complete laws of nature. More of guidelines. Reality might be different.
