The method's used aren't broken it's the canned lines that are done. Before this got off topic some good advice was given. Keep with the procedure but use your own lines. I try to use an opener that has something to do with my surroundings. They can't really think your stealing material when your talking about something currently happening.

The methods aren't going to stop working no matter how notorious PUAs get, because if you are doing them properly, you just sound like an interesting and friendly person, not someone trying to pick up and that's what seperates us from AFCs. I haven't used a canned opener yet and I am trying to keep it that way. You don't need to open girls with fantastic amazing stories about fights outside, or whether they floss before or after brushing, you can just as easily say "Hi" or "Wow, this is a long line, huh?". When Conan asked Mystery what his best opener was, he said he likes to use "Hi".

Yeah, not bad. I'm trying to come up with a few that I can use in situations that I don't have anything situational to work with, but I don't like ones that other people have come up with, cause its not me. I do like opinion openers though. Or the occassional poll opener, like on saturday night we polled groups at a gay bar to see if straight people actually went to them in Calgary, like they do in Vancouver. The answer: very few.
