Ok so the night started off great but ended really messed up. If anyone can help me figure out what went wrong or if it was just BAD luck.

Went out with a friend last night and when I got there he was already talking to these 4 girls. THey looked kinda bored so I introduced myself smiled a bit and started talking. All four girls acted completely interested. I would say it was 2 8's a 9 and a 10. well the 9 and 10 basically started wispering, looking at me and smiling. Then came out and said that they both thought I was "Drop dead HOT"!! Now I never know how to take this. I mean its obvious they are interested but I dont know how to respond. I feel that if I say "Oh your hot too" then that would be a bad move. I just said thank you with a cocky smirk on my face (maybe not the best thing to do). All was not lost though. I started having a convo with all 4 girls and acting really interested in the 9. Well of course then 10 just cannot stand it and is basically begging for my attention. She ask if we can go outside, just me and her and of course I agree. Maybe that was a wrong move?

I saw this as my chance to do some kino and maybe escalate to a kiss but instead she starts rambling NON STOP. Like seriously girl, breath for a second. Anyways, after a bit we got really close and were touching a lot and i was going to kiss RIGHT when her freaking friends walked out. Grrrrrrr. SO basically we are back where we started and talking as a group. Next thing I know this guy walks up and jumps in our convo. At first he starts talking to the group and then whispers in the 10s ear. I have no clue what he said but it looked like she ignored it and scooted closer to me. I was like YES she wants me, not him. SO I sugguest we walk somewhere else and she smiles and says yes. Well we get up and this douche stops her and ask her to get a drink with him as we start to walk away. Well she stops and Freaking goes with him. WTF!!! Next thing I know they are 1 on 1 with each other. Oh well, I say screw it and start talking to the other girls. Well I walk back in after a few minutes and she is sitting on his freaking lap. Basically the night ended up with my friend hooking up with one of the girls and me left stranded Honestly. What the heck. I mean, she was REALLY in to me or so I thought. Im not sure what happened or how to combat this.

Had to have been. Honestly, Im not that good yet. I just started reading about this stuff about 2 weeks ago but I was decent as a natural. I mean I was no PUA by any means... Hence why Im here. Do you guys think that when she said I was hot that I should have reciprocated some type of interest? I am thinking maybe she figured I wasn't interested? Should I have said something more like "Your pretty cute yourself but lest see if you have anything else going for you"?

Yeah, in that situation you have to also reciprocate with some IOI's of your own and establish that you actually wanted her.

What you said would have been pretty good. Also, you should try to do some DHV to transmit that she'd be lucky to kiss you.

It's a shame, but everything is an experience you can learn from!

Yeah, man...don't sweat it. the trick is don't put all your eggs in one basket, so it's easy to move on to a new or a previous set if the chick you're gaming flakes on you. When the guy first came over, you could have kind of smirked and said something like, "Well, I'll let you two be alone", then go back to one of the other girls, or even drag one of them off. It's all reverse psychology.

I fuck up a few times a night, but I learn from it and I'm prepared for it next time. It's all a game...don't punish yourself over it. Replay it in your head and you'll recognize some opportunities missed, and you won't miss them again next time.
