So here it was, 11 o'clock and me and my wing finish having a few brews and a shot or two. We hit the bars. Unfortunately we weren't too pea-cocked, but the cowboy boots and hat are still on their way. Anyway, we go to this college bar. This is the kind of place hot girls go to strut their shit in next to nothing. However, this is also the kind of bar that girls go to to a) hustle drinks and b) find the richest, most friend-pleasing guy they can find. Me and my buddy try a few Maury Povich openers, as well as the jealous girlfriend. I'm not sure if it was lack of confidence or if this was just not the right environment, but the girls weren't too perceptive. There was one four set that we opened with the jealous girlfriend, and the girl immediately declared it was the best pick-up line she had heard all night. I'm not sure what the deal was. I'm pretty new at this, but I thought it was supposed to be under the radar.

Any who, we open a few more sets and we continually got stuck on the transition. How does one go from a clever opener to demonstrating value. Its not like I can say blah blah blah jealous girlfriend, hey want to see a magic trick? Unless that's how it is supposed to go.'

After not having much success at this college bar, we hit the 4am bars, which in Chicago these are the ones that charge an arm and a leg for a damn shot of Crown. Any who, we start drinking more and relaxing. This really helped. We became more natural and smooth. I ended the night with a number close, which I gave my number to her as well. She had to take her friend home but kept texting me all night and continues to text me today. IOI!

Well after spending about $100 on cabs and drinks, we were ready to call it a night...well not exactly. This girl I met at school started texting me. So, I negged the shit out of her until she invited me to come over and "make it up to her." Naturally I accepted and I am proud to report that I sealed with my first black chick. Not a bad night for a first attempt at being a PUA. Obviously I have a lot to learn, but I feel like the take home message is to go out there and be willing to fail. Yea it's awkward and sort of weird at first, but the more sets that shut me down, the more I didn't give a fuck...thus improving confidence and increasing effectiveness.

you are correct. we had a class together last semester and share mutual friends, but nothing major. she started giving some IOIs via text so i turned the heat up a bit and it worked out.
