Hello all. To give you some background, I'm only 16 years old, and I have read The Game and The Rules of the Game. I have had a few girlfriends, but have never had a one-time hook-up. I am sort of recovering from a long term relationship, which isn't very fun.

Anyway, I have become very interested in the idea of learning the game, and lately have just been constantly reading posts on this site and others.

Anyway, I just have a few questions that I will ask once I relay the FR.

So I live near the beach, and often my friends and I walk up and down the boardwalk at night, trying to find some girls our age to talk to. My friends are completely unaware of the game, and therefore when they try to talk to girls it's usually just a basic "Hi", etc.

Well one night, my friend and I were walking on the dimly lit boardwalk and we saw two girls. They walked by us, and after about 20 seconds of discussion we decided to turn around and go and talk to them. My friend is quite an attractive guy, not to mention extremely cocky. However, he is not that smooth when he talks to girls. Anyway, we were walking behind them as we heard some music playing at one of the houses. My friend starts obnoxiously singing in order to get their attention. It did.

After that, we just said "Hey, what's up, where are you from, where are you going, are you down here for a long time" etc. Basic conversation bullshit. After conversation my friend offers to go on the beach with the two girls. Oh, one of them was about an HB8 and the other was about HB6. They say okay and we go onto the beach. After that my friend asks if they want to sit down. We do.

Fireworks start going a few beaches down, so we watch those. My friend sits down next to the 8, I get the 6. By the way, the 8 is very enthusiastic and the 6 is very shy. Mind you I am much better at making smooth and flowing conversation than him, but he is a bit more attractive than me. Anyway, after a few minutes, my friend says, rather awkwardly, "Wanna hook up?" out loud.

The 8 says, "Is that all you wanted?" and my friend says "Yeah, pretty much." She says okay, and they start hooking up. Right next to me and the shy 6. So I've already gotten the vibe that this shy girl is uncomfortable, and my friend asking the question just made her even more uncomfortable. So I tried to remedy the situation by cracking some jokes and asking her about herself. She laughed, and I felt like she felt better. She was happy to give me her number, and after my friend and the 8 finished, they left.

So, I have a few questions and comments. My friend is not a smooth talker. Yet the more attractive girl was more interested in him from the start, and also hooked up with him, even when he asked like an idiot. What could I have done to either made myself look better, or, made the 6 desire me a little more?

Also, we are young, and I'm just curious if game tactics will work at this age. Because looking at some of the routines I feel like many girls at this age would just think they are stupid. Should I use them? Because clearly my friend with NO game got a girl to hook up with him right there, whereas I was trying to be a little more indirect and I didn't get anything. Did I get unlucky, or is the game just not necessary at this age?

Because he continues to get girls interested in him even though he is quite awkward and too blunt. I'm wondering if at this age many girls are focusing a lot on looks or what. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
