Today was the second day of the style life challenge, and just the challenge to myself in general.I am going to sarge and practice outside of the missions set out by Neil, but for today I pretty much just stuck to the missions in the book.I was sociable again today, however I did not open some sets that I would of liked to,but found it easy to open others.I had the opportunity to open quite abit of one sets of hbs ranging from about 5 to 8,but didn't work up the courage(bad choice of words, cause I know working up courage is for AFC's,but that is what I tried to do),I did however decide to talk to more people than normal at school, work, and on my own time. There are 2 interactions that are worth noting.I work at Starbucks in a safeway, and while I was closing up shop,a Hb 7 walks in and asks if I am closed, the lights are off and I obviously am,but I ask her what kinda of drink she was thinking, she tells me she needs caffiene,so I offer to make her an expresso, but tell her that's about all I can do,she is all for it,I ring in the drink, and while I am, I notice her tats, and start making fluff talk, she tips me about double the price of the drink, and I start to object the tip, then stopped playing nice, and was like "thanks",I made some more fluff talk, and handed off her drinks,"thanks" "your welcome",then I forgot about her and got back to closing up,when I here "what is your name anyways",(I had a name tag on),I told her,out streched my hand and when she took it,I held it and got her name.I have done the extended shake before, and felt that I got a good reaction in the past, but I didnt really feel like I capitalized on it correctly tonight.I didnt want to seem desperate and hold onto her hand, but I didn't sense any IoI's or any attraction caused by the subtle gesture.Anyways, that was that, and she left, but I couldn't help but think that I just let a number close walk right out the door,it was right there, and I let it go.Oh well though, everything happens for a reason, either we are going to see each other again, and it's on,or she was a valuable lesson that I have to keep my objective in mind and not let sudden interactions catch me off gaurd.Ater work,I realized that even though I talked to people today,I didn't get their eye color(stylelife challenge),so I wasn't making conscience eye contact. It was 10 p.m and I needed five interactions, good thing my store was in a grocery store.I walked around and decided that this was a great opportunity to approach 2 sets, particulary, couple 2 sets,so I asked random people where the deodorant section was, noted thier eye colour, made funny remarks, but acted rushed, then I grabbed 2 sticks and removed the caps,I spotted a couple, the dude was actually huge, but I sensed he was prolly a teddy bear, and I walked down the aisle towards them and just when I was beside them I said"you look like you probably wear deodorant, which one do you think?,and tipped them for him to smell,he smell gave me his opinion, and then his girlfriend, wife, friend, sister,I really don't know, motioned to smell so I let her,and then I said that "I just smelled like 30 sticks and I don't want to smell anymore, you pick, but I was thinking the one on the left is best",(actually the deodorant I wear),the big guy is like "yeah that one is kinda cologny",and then I said to the girl" the decision is yours",and she looked at us both and made some jokes about the smells, laughter all around and then she picked the one I suggested. It was a great intereaction to learn from, and even though I saw him again solo and we just passed each other, him looking down but grinning a friendly amused grin,I think this was monumental. It taught me that a little creativity goes along way. There is much more I will get out of this lesson, but I am not going to analize it for now,I am just going to continue on with my sarging and challenge. Also does anyone know how to run this thread as a continuing journal instead of seperate threads?

Hey,

Congrats on completing the 2nd day of your challenge. I have yet to get on Day 1 but delayed it, my bad I know...starting it tomorrow for sure!

Anyhow, to post a continuous thread simply go to your thread and post a new reply. That's it.

Cheers,

TheApostle

Thanks alot!I have big problem with procrastinating!!Don't think too much about getting started or where you are going to sarge, etc, just say to yourself,"o.k,I am approaching the next 5 people I see".It takes so much less energy to just do it,then to think and think about doing it,but this post is a waste of time, cause I bet that you already finshed your day 1 challenge today, and it was a breeze for you!!Good job and good luck on Day 2!!

Great FR. Keep up the good work.

Not to be a dick, but can you try putting some formatting in your FRs? It's tough to read a wall of text.
