Im going to go ahead and have to disagree with RVAIS on this one, loading yourself up on Caffeine and sugar is a bad idea for working out, as both are diuretics and caffeine will make your heart rate skyrocket while working out, more than it is supposed to.
That could lead to issues with your heart later on in life, and has been linked to early age heart attacks (this is why ephedrine was pulled off of the market).
It is also one of the best ways to suffer from heat stroke/exhaustion, even if you are drinking water. Hydration takes a while, so if you ever do *anything* strenuous, make sure you drink plenty of water the DAY BEFORE, even if it's in the winter.
If you want a pre-workout supplement to help you out get a good NO2 product that has NO caffeine in it (Studies have shown that Caffeine negates NO2 effects) and that isn't loaded with other crazy shit. You really only need taurine (if at all) and NO2.
I will agree with you overall caffenine is not good at all, the point I was trying to make is you don' t need to go the supplement route.
and though I don't believe in any supplementatio I did find this interesting study on NO2
