I am considered a good looking guy - women tell me this almost every night when out at the bars. I have a well kept, short beard, I am about 6ft tall and athletic build (not big, but not scronny) and I am a fairly hairy guy. I have a classic style of dress (nice button down shirts, nice jeans, fresh sneakers/or nice casual/dress shoes, depending on the occasion). Being that I rarlely wear t-shirts out, I am usually wearing a shirt that has buttons on the chest (polo shirt) or button down all the way. I usually leave the top 2 or 3 buttons undone, exposing some chest hair. I get comments on it, usually playful and positive, so I keep doing it. I feel like my personality and appearance is congruent with doing this ( I also drink whiskey on the rocks and it seems to go hand in hand with exposed chest hair) and it is generally more comfortable and communicates - in my opinion - laid backness (is that a word?).

What are your opinions on this? leave it out or cover it up?

The general rule is one if by day, two if by night, in reference to the amount of buttons to leave undone.

Wax it.

No shame in that.

It has to go with your style...

Can you imagine Hugh Jackman without it? Or David Letterman with a bushy chest...

They know how they are and what suits them.

However chest hair + mainicured lounge lizard outfit = vaguely sleazy.

I feel chest hair works better with a rocker, feral, devil-may-care look.

Good points in here. I am in the same boat and feel weird about it around my area, which is the beach. I am super white and try to tan but cant hold it. But back to the point I am tall blonde with chest hair so I will wear a nice t-shirt when I go out. But now that you mention it I am a Scotch drinker i do feel more comfortable with a nice button down.

Hmm...

I have a load of chest hair... It is just easier to shave it or whatever to eliminate the problem altogether.

I have chest hair, not overgrown or anything, girls love it I'm telling you. But thats it keep chest hair, no back hair wax it ( i have none naturally my fathers genes lol he has none). No nose hairs either. I like going out with a natural grown beard trimmed down usually take the buzzers and do between a 0 and 1, i never shave and it makes me look older (im 20) and people always mistake my age for 25 or around there.

A recent poll of women showed that women like men with chest hair than men without it so hope that helps!
