Statics Flexing with your abs, does anyone know if this is truly affective?

Your essentially contraction your ab muscle against one another yes they can be effective but if you flex them against a force ie gravity simple floor crunch or weigthed resistance or in the static position against an immovable object you'd probably get a better result. Static just means still or holding the contracted position in training terms, its the money part of the rep where the muscle is completly stimulated just dont over do it as it creates a deeper inroad.

So, like a hard set of ab workouts for 8minutes a day, or all day static fleixing? Don't they kind of balance out?

8 minutes a day everyday= overtraining
Full range ab work how much of that time are yor abs full engaged?

yesterday, I think I did the flexing thing for like 4 hrs or so.

You'll just build your muscular endurance. You won't get bigger/stronger abs.

It's the same as flexing your biceps constantly and expecting them to grow. It's just not gonna happen.
