Yeah I know you Army,Navy,Air Force, and def the Marines out there all use military routines within your pickup as a DHV. Anyways, I thought I'd share a short little story with all my fellow soldiers out there. So I taught my cousin the game and he is actually starting Army Basic training tomorrow so wish him luck! We were in a restaurant with my other cousin and his gf, another cousin, and my aunt. He stands up and rushes over to this girl with an amzing ass (I never saw her face but my aunt and he says she was a HB12 which I still doubt) runs the military game and ditchs us for her. At the time it was hilarious he ditched his entire family at a restaurant to go sit and eat with the chick who was eating at a restaurant alone (which I think is a BAD sign for any chick). From my experience most girls not "in set" have DIFFERENT types of problems. Anyways, he gets the number and starts talking to her and finds out she is training to be a doctor and has done some magazine shoots for KING magazine. Well it was going great with them then on April 1, 2010 he texts her that he is dead. So she starts making funeral arrangements and shit and he says APRIL FOOLS! She never talked to him again. Just a funny story for you guys out there!

I like your first sentence though, I never use the Army bit when I'm gaming chicks. I find that it's a DLV in a military town; most of the women have a bad perception of military guys or something like that. When they ask me what I do I make up crazy stuff like saying I was the red power ranger in 1995.

Good luck to your cousin though, it's a blast at times and a great way to travel.

Huge props for never using the Army bit I stopped using it as well after awhile especially after 9 months in a military town it gets old; you start meeting girls who totally eliminate military guys from their prospects, or their parents don't want them with military guys, or the chicks that just have us all figured out. This is getting into the gray area of Pick Up because higher level pickup makes the girl fight for all her knowledge she has on you. From your name to your job to your birthdate nothing should be given to her so easily without making her work for it. Funny you mention the Red Power Ranger I have a friend for a program I worked for who knew the Red Ranger from lightspeed rescue (Sean Cw Johnson) lol he was also a member of the same program.

Delta, are you active duty Army?

Have to say ever since i've gotten into the game, I won't tell people that i'm in the forces on a night out, especially girls, they'll have to figure that out themselves. I just make up some stupid proffession like, indoor hang-gliding champion, or something like that...

And yeah I have to agree with Library, I grew up in an army town and moved away to the air force, and no matter where i am, alot of girls or their parents seem to dislike us due to the bad image that some of the less clued in lads give off =/, and they're thinking - "oh God not another one... RUN!"

My advice keep it quiet for a bit, show her that you are the exception to the rule that says all forces lads are rowdy perverts, chasing drugs and slags. and then maybe after a d2 or d3 let her know subtley...

I'm relativley new to the game in the last few months, so your opinions on this will be really useful guys

I like that Indoor hang gliding champion...hilarious.

Whenever I do finally get down and dirty with letting them know I'm working for the "gummet" I ALWAYS ground them with a funny story first and it seems to be better than just straight up telling them, "yeah, I play with them there guns and wear that shiny dressed up uniform thing"

Chose your own or feel free to use mine, it's a great way to ground them and make them laugh.

Unsuspecting Chick: So what do you do?
Library: I design refridgerator magnets.
UC: hahahaha, no seriously, what's your job?
LB: Ever watch cartoons when you were a kid?
UC: Uh, yeah, some of them...
LB: No, really...like thundercats, he-man, ninja turtles?
UC: Hahahaha, yes, I loved thundercats! (everyone loved thundercats)
LB: Well when I was a little kid I always wanted to be the Orange Ninja Turtle. Eventually when I was like 20 I realized he wasn't a real person and that it wasn't a real job so good thing I had a back up plan. In between the cartoons, GI Joe and his friends would always save the kids from imminent death by pulling the forks out of the toaster or teaching them to swim and I thought to myself well that's pretty cool, so I did that.

You get the point. Like I said, it really works and then you let them ask you a few questions (have you ever been...what do you do in the Army...etc) but the key is to honestly NOT make a big deal about your job. Answer the questions pretty quickly and start framing the conversation to get her off of your job. All of her perceptions and stigmas about military guys will disappear and you'll be closing in no time.
