I'm a Navy Pilot.

Lemme me tell you gents....nothing gets panties wet like wearing a flight suit and telling a chick you're in charge of an aircraft that can go at mach speeds and that also has your name written on the side.

In military towns lots of chicks are used to it, but anywhere else....it seals the deal

Start reading a newspaper like the Financial Times or Wall Street Journal every day, and start following the progress of companies and markets to see what affects their prices.

Also read some books on introductions to investing theory, and then maybe just practice for a bit with fake money/stocks before buying anything real.

Full time student at the mo- with a barista job to pay the rent and freelance writing to pay for the rest. When i finish i plan to be either a mercenary sniper, a jedi, or professional time traveller.

I figure that six years of uni was just for the drinking culture but that those three jobs will all make lots of money. Sweet.

Please stay away from Day Trading. I lost a ton of money. The deception in Day Trading is your own ego and thinking that you are so smart that you can outrade the market. Well let me tell you, some of the smartest minds in the world are competing in this market. No offense, but chances are you are not in that top 1% of genuis traders. Then take in the factor that you are a beginner and your chances of making money are zero. If I could do it all over again I would have invested in long term, solid investements. If I had done that I would be RETIRED right now.

My best advice is to pay a small monthly fee to a money manager with an outstanding track record. If you're interested to know where to find a manager like that I can tell you. Just to be clear, this is not an advertisement and I will receive no benefit for giving you this information.

I'm a professional musician getting a bachelors in recording arts. It's mostly for the certification (so I have something to fall back on) and so that I can have a place to record my material for free. Right now I'm employed as a bartender for a country club, but I'm working on flair so that I can go on to bigger clubs for the hell of it. You never know where the connections might get me ;)

Film scoring, guitar playing and song writing. It's an interesting world to be a part of.

Hey man,

How do you manage a social life besides your job? I hear all these horror stories 80+ hours a week.

I am a student in Economics and Business. I really enjoy the subjects, although I have no clue how to make it sound interesting. It isn't something like navy pilot, photographer and so forth.

for anyone that's been talking about the stock market I highly suggest you read up on the basics of financial theory. For you average investors out there you WILL NOT beat the market on a consistent basis. That is fact. Unless you are highly, highly qualified, when playing in highly traded markets you would do best to invest in an index fund (or several)

source: I work in finance and have a background in financial theory

I work at a mid-size company as the IT Assistant. Basically I do everything but make choices regarding IT. I build servers, fix workstations, etc.
It's good money, but not quite on par with the amount of work and experience I have /:
But there's room for me to work up the ladder (:
