I have thought about this question before, and since I am older,(late 30's) and always hitting on younger women, I have developed a kinda canned response. Have yet to have anyone bail or get upset at this. (Knock on wood.)

HB: How old are you?
Me: How old do you think I am?
HB: About XX.
Me: Is that to old for you?

Answer 1.

HB: No.
Me: Good, because you were only 1 year too high.

Answer 2.

HB: Yes.
Me: Ok, try again.

If she guesses lower, and its not to old for her,
Me: DING. DING. DING. We have a winner....

If she guesses higher, or says I don't know. Give her a NEG...

Me: Your not very good at this game. (With a smile) Is there anything you are good at?

Then I elude to being younger than she said, but I never actually answer the question..

I asked a girl her age one time and her response was "Old enough" even though she was only 21 and had no reason to keep this a secret. She was kind of a bitch, but I realized that for guys like us that's a more appropriate response, and sort a neg too to make the girl feel a little foolish for asking. Basically I think it's good to just maintain a kind of "I just met you and your already asking me such probing questions?" sort of attitude when it comes to that.

I just turned 23 myself and I already feel like lying about my age. Basically if your older I think it's a good idea to keep your age confidential until after you've built attraction and comfort, because after that it's almost irrelevent to most females.

And Lexus, there's nothing wrong with an older guy hitting on younger women. What do you expect to do when you're in your 30's and you don't have a wife or gf, are u gonna limit yourself? Think about it a little more before you judge someone else's pickups.

Well, my dad is 13 years older than my mom, and my mom is only 20 years older than I. My last three girlfriends have been 4 years older than I, and I have no friends my own age. Age doesn't really define you all that much.

After a certain age, age just doesn't matter. It would be weird to litterally do a 6 year old, but if she's 26 and you're 32, it's not as weird.

Imagine that a girl really didn't know her own age, and nobody else did either. You would just have to see her for whom she is, right? Except for legal issues, the only age that should really matter is ones "inner" age. Your body might have a certain age, but your mind is different.

Dating someone that's youger than your children though, yeah, that would be very weird, but only if you made it official.

Jeesh, I wish I had the problem of looking younger.
But I'm the opposite. I'm 24 but everyone thinks I'm 35 because of my grey hair (on the sides). I always get:

HB: OMG! You look so much older with your grey hair I would have never thought...blah lbalh blah
Me: Thank you I grew it myself you know.

Anyone have a better response I could use, because I've gotten this response 20+ times already.

Hmmmm, that's wierd. I am 34, with slight grey streaks, as in hairs, on the side, but everyone says I look about mid 20's. When I'm clean shaven anyway. When I have a shadow, it's sexier, and makes me look almost my age.

At first I was very hesitant to do this because asking a woman her weight can be very touchy, but whenever I use it, it generally gets me this sort of a response:

HB: *open mouth in play shock and hits my arm*
Shincredible: *shrug and laugh*

The way I see it is, you're not afraid to say things all guys are afraid to say, it changed the focus from you to her, and you don't even have to answer if you don't want to. Either way, it frazzles her, and she sees that you're confident enough to say something like that.

I feel you... i actually got the opposite problem of the original thread starter, since I m only 22 and most of the girls i hit on at bars/clubs (outside of a college town) are older than me so I have to either pretend i m older or bs my way around the question

The ONLY real problem I've had lately, me being 34, was this latest girl I picked up, she being 21, and SHE was the one afraid that I would hold the age difference against HER. Which of course I'm not.
