From old photos/potraits of women from say before WWII, they all seem UGLY. Seriously. I know that hygiene wasn't as common back then as it is today, but shit... Even some of the models from the early 20th century look below average or just around average by today's standards. Looks must not have been any kind of priority back then lol...

girls back then are not the same breed of girl today, they were more conservative, they did not show off their body, infact if a girl showed her knees it was regarded as slutty. Makeup was generally only used when they went out to socialse and that was pushing it. Nothing like todays society when girls can show 95% of their body without being ridiculed by anyone.

Yea It's amazing what hygiene, make up, working out, tanning, hairstyles, clothes, and things like that can do. Women can easily add a few points if they can excel in any of these areas.

Also, the mentality of women back then was not the same "must be skinny and fake" look as it is today.

Back then women were more natural and a bit heavier (not even a fraction of todays cases of bulimia and anorexia)

I was about to post exactly that.

It hasn't changed, and it will not change. What is 'pretty' and 'hot' is just a snapshot of what society wants at that given time. Back then a little fat on the bones was a good thing. Showed that you had enough money to feed well, that you had enough strength and energy for good child birth. That was highly valued and made 'chubby' women pretty. Light skin was good because it ment you didn't have to work in the field.

Ain't so anymore, slim and darker skinned is sexy.

What will it be in 100 years? Who knows. Jessica Alba might be a horrible picture to look at then.

Remember that 100 years ago, when 'meatier' and 'whiter' was the standard, there was also some Jessica Alba's our there that coudn't get a date to save their lives. Gene pools don't change that quickly. Standards do however.
