Hey all, I came up with this one on my way to the library (Two ways of doing it):
1) Check the aisles for an HB and when you find one, enter the aisle and pick up a some novel. Walk over to the HB, hand her the book and say "This is a really good book, you should check it out. I think you'd really like it." When she takes a look and asks what it's about reply "No idea, I've never read it before."
-or-
2) Go to the logic, or classics, or some boring-ass section of the library and pick up some really thick book with really fine print on something really esoteric. FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE BOOK (i.e. title, topic, maybe some of the subtopics). Next, find an HB and present her with the book saying essentially the same thing as in the previous instance "This is a great book, you should really check it out...". She may ask what its called, what it's about, etc. Answer her (because you know these things!). She will be like "WTF?" in her mind. Just reassure her that it's a really easy book, a quick read, with big print (as you show her the fine print). Eventually she will understand you are joking around...unless she's an idiot.
I've only tried this (method 2) on one girl so far. It seemed like it really could have worked if I wouldn't have been at a loss for words a few sentences in. So FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE BOOK for method 2.
This is my first opener. Let me know what you think!
