I'm on a mission to write all my own material so I'm gonna start with creating 10 new openers. Feel free to use the ones you like and criticize the ones that stink.

1. " Hey, do you guys think its gay for a guy to go tanning?"

2. "Could you ever fall in love with a guy who spoke a different language?"

3. "If you're going to undress me with your eyes, try not to make it so obvious."

4. "When is the last time you walked away from a conversation and thought, 'Wow, that was stimulating'?"

5. "Would you rather have a boyfreind who was a great cook or a boyfriend who gave great massages?"

6. "Do you think a women has more of a bond with her husband or her child?"

7. " You have something on your face. No, you didn't get it. No, you missed it again. I think its an eyelash. Oh my god, you're shedding!"

8. "I'm having the craziest dejavu right now. If I'm right you're going to say something very interesting. No? You got nothin'? Ok, fine, then Ill just have to say something fascinating." (Then stack into a DHV story).

9. "What do you guys think about couples who elope? Because my friend is love with girl and they just split town last...."

10. "You're not boring are you? Because I need to talk to someone about..."


On my next post I am either going to write another 10 openers, or a bunch of DHV stories. Can you imagine how much material we could accumulate if everyone on the forum did this??!!!

I like the first 3. I should try it sometime and see how it goes.

I liked the first 3! I thought that the shedding one was absolutely terrible. no offense.

However, you can fix that one. The shedding one seemed more like a neg to me than an opener, never insult the group with an opener, you look like a complete jackass. I know cause I tried to use a neg as an opener once and it failed.

If you wanna make it a neg, forget the shedding comment and telling her that she has something on her face. Instead, while your DHV'ing do a double take on your target, stop what your saying in the middle of conversation and just take your thumb and wipe whatever it is off her face (there doesnt even have to really be anything there) and then continue where you left off on your story. This develops kino while negging AND on top of that you've already started to build that sexual tension.

It worked great for me, it's my favorite neg, and it gets the group laughing

A neg opener is bad to use with a group (I think), but I am pretty sure it can work nicely on a single HB.

And the shedding line isn't genius, but I think "terrible" is going a little overboard. Haha.

They're all straight dawwwwg.

Just remember that humans LOVE/NEED to have a "Reason Why", as in "why are you asking us this", so make sure you overcome this objection pre-emptively by immediately following the opener with the REASON WHY.

I don't consciously think about this stuff anymore, but almost every pick-up I do goes like this (if you can do this from start to finish (about 10-12 minutes), you're 100% in. It works 100% of the time 100% of the time):

Opener---> Reason Why ---> Discussion --->Something Cocky ---> Quick Cold-Read ----> Story or Lesson DHV ----> Qualification/Challenge ----> It's ON.

The best way to "reason why" is with a quick story about where the question came from. Throw in as much value building-triggers in that story too.

i love openers just because it allows the more shy people to just "do it"and not think about what to say.

i personally love to use the yes ladder because the more u get her to say the word yes the more she will end up giveing u.

I dont think a neg opener has to be bad, in a set.

I just came home and tonight I opend a 3 set with following line:
"Oh my good. You are sooo blond. I think there is something wrong with you!!"
They all laughed and thought it was fun.

The blonde one kept telling about how she just got a new schampoo.

ONCE?!?! I mean, I don't recommend using a neg right out of the gate, but try something a few times before you make up your mind about whether or not it works.

Half of these are actually pretty good and right to the point. I may use one or two of them when I go out tonight. I'm always looking for more original openers as opposed to the ones that are already being overused.

I feel you man. I can't say a canned opener without feeling like a complete tool. I will actually feel my face get hot, because I'm so embarassed.

What I do want to know though is, say if you used the opener where you asked, the question about wheather or not they want a boyfriend who's a good cook or a good massager, what would happen if they happened to mention their boyfriends? What could be done then? Better yet, is it possible that they won't mention they have boyfriends?
