Just do it.
If you keep waiting around for someone to go with you, you may never go. You have to face and understand that reality. Once you figure that out, you need to decide.
Am I going to sit here and have my life suck for the rest of it's duration or am I going to go out there and own that world?
Hopefully you will choose the second option.
"But goodtimes, you don't understand the pressure! It's too much I just can't!"
Holy crap I'd slap you if you were within range. Truth is I know the feeling because I went through it. I came to the point where I decided that going out with friends gave me an excuse not to talk to women and and just hang out with them and going alone was just too awkward.
So I went out the first few times and did nothing but walk around the area. Didn't talk to anyone just walked around near the club entrances. Why would I do this?
If you do it enough times, you will get used to the environment. Things that scared you before are just normal to you now. You'll notice that while you may get a few looks either interested or weird (don't let it faze you), most people don't give a fuck that you're there and that's ok. That will help you understand that you're worrying about nothing. Keep doing it till you feel no fear. Then go talk to some women.
Once you get your game down, it's ok to go out with friends because they won't be a crutch.
Trust me when I say it's better to go down in flames then it is to live on your knees.
Now what are you going to do? A man chooses and a slave obeys. Don't be a slave to your fears. Women don't fuck slaves. They fuck Men.
Go Be A Man. _________________ Don't think you are, know you are.

Sit at the bar, and you'll start socializing with new people in no time. If you're younger then the regular clientele you'll especially quick friends (a VP of a major company shared some party supplies with me Saturdayin his new bmw 745 after only going to a nice cocktail bar a couple of times). The wait staff girls will also take a keen interest to you-- I bumped in to one an hour or two later at a dance club who was shocked to see someone from the cocktail bar there..
Going out to lunch or dinner by yourself (sushi is great)... it'll get you used to being alone at no time-- I travel a bunch so I actually enjoy it.
As far as clubbing goes, I usually try to go to place I know there will be people I know (though don't mind showing up to alone). Worst comes to worst, wait till a bit later and head straight to the dance floor to find a girl looking for someone to dance with....
