First ever approaches

Well I finally took my first steps into the world of the PUA. Some day and some night.

Day: Well as today was a great day weather wise I thought I would hit the local park. At this point I realized what AA is like. I can normally talk in front of people easily so the talking part wasn't an issue to much, it was more the over thinking/getting out of my own head. After some stupid walking about I decided to stop being a total AFC. First approach I used a situational opener as some large event seemed to have encamped in the park. Well I asked what was going on to star off. This started a conversation. However, it turned out to be a flower show and I ran out of things to say after failing to get past the situation :(.
Second I approached was a 2 set. I asked some crap about directions (I need better openers) as it happened these 2 were also lost so after some mutual laughing at not knowing where to go I again bottled it and exited. This I instantly regretted as not only were they hot as hell they were friendly and seemed to be open to talking more. After this I left as I was over thinking it again and couldn't get my head in gear.

Night: First one person was as I was walking they unfortunately were heading to the train station so had to leave :(. Just fro practise I then started talking to a group of lads (still trying to create a group of friends as I only just moved here). Well these turned out to be on a stag do and invited me to the strip club they were off to. As I am broke and not after paying for women attention I declined. I then headed to a bar to try my luck. This I opened a couple of sets and got nowhere. All seemed open and unfriendly. As a result I lost my confidence and went home.

Not great but at least I made the first steps. Any advice on how I can stop over thinking it? I do not get crippling fear I just over think the situation and either miss the opportunity or miss the chance to open. Has anyone got any recommendations on things to get out of my own head? Will some confidence stiff help me stop exiting as soon as I can? Lastly, will NLP help with my issues or is it a case of keep going till something works? Sorry if this is the wrong section or for any typos or bad English I'm currently really tired :)

The only way you are going to stop over thinking is by talking to MORE AND MORE GIRLS. That is the ONLY way! You need to get to a point where you can talk to people and openly hit on them without feeling embarrassment. This just comes from practice, and getting your mind to make positive associations with approaching women, and getting comfortable enough with yourself to get out of your own head and realize there is no problem, no awkwardness unless you create it.
