Someone gave me the advice of posting a sketch of myself up instead of a actually picture. said it added a bit of mystery. So I posted a Anime sketch my friend drew of me. I think it was kinda' lame.

So far its been hit or miss.

I'm wondering if it was a good idea. Does anyone have any better ideas?

hey maniiak...i think the idea of a sketch is cool. i'm an artist. the Anime part i am not so sure about. unless you are trying to pick up your anime con goers. IMO i would say a pencil sketch something like boris vallejo or brom. or do a stick figure with crayons...show you have a sense of humor. i wonder if it would be okay to do it yourself. self portraits of artists are popular. i might steal this idea for a pic. oh and i'm just an AFC.

I think David DeAngello (my spelling sucks) mentions this in "Double your dating", but I have yet to see anyone use it to good effect.

Adding any images that show you have a GSOH is important, for instance I have recently added images of a Horse with big glasses and a silly hat on, a picture of Button Moon (80's cult UK kids program) with my face photoshop'ed onto one of the characters heads and some Lego Porn with my head stuck on. A slight mention to these in the profile really hooks the women.

BTW - I live in a rural area with lots of horses, Im looking for women around my age so Button Moon is a fav of most people of that era, and the lego porn for some light sexual fun allowing me to escalate sexually but keeping it non-creepy!

I have heard of some people not using images AT ALL and still getting success by having an excellent profile.

I do like the idea of being different with the profile picture, getting a-head (lol) of the competition on site like POF, where initial search is based on profile pictures, is always going to do well.
