| I'm a sophmore at the University of Wisconsin. I have a Lecutre on Mondays and Wednesdays, and last Monday I noticed a stunning girl accross the room. I'd like to get to know her and go out, not just have a 1 night stand or anything. I decided I had to act, even though I'm really new at picking up girls.
Today (Wednesday) I sat two seats beside her (the row was open, it would have been weird to sit right next to her). Lecture started almost as soon as I sat down. After Lecture, I struck up a conversation.
(there were more things said than this, but I don't really remember every word)
Me: Excuse me, were you here for last class?
Her: Yeah, I was.
Me: Great! Well, I was wondering if you could just give me a breif overview of what went on.
Her: To tell you the truth, I have no idea, I was zoning out. I could e-mail you the notes, if you'd like.
Me: That'd be great, thanks
(I wrote down my school email, but then accidentally tore the paper through the '.edu' part of it. We both laughed a little)
Me: Oops
Her: It's okay, I can still understand it.
Me: Oh good, that means you're not TOO blonde
(She didn't respond to the neg at all)
Her: So, what year are you here?
(IOI, good sign)
After that, we started talking as we walked out the door. I was so nervous, I let the conversation go stale with pauses a few times. After about a minute of walking, we parted.
I'm not sure if I messed that up or not. She gave me an IOI be asking a question she didn't need to ask, but after that I messed up. What should I do now?
Some people have suggested to me that I ought to:
When she e-mails me, say "Oh thank you so much, let me make it up to you with dinner/lunch/movie/something"
Use her e-mail to add her to Facebook and try to talk to her a little more.
Go sit by her next Monday and try again, remembering to relax.
