So i just started school again after a year an a half, my class is filled with people of all sorts of ages i dont really like to start talking to people espically if i dont know them, theres this girl that sits in the desk to my right, across from me in the row infront, how do i get to approach her?? the thing is its a 4 hour math course with little time to none peer to peer interaction

and what else can i do to make new friends at school its not so much about picking up its more about approaching, through out high school i was very shy and quiet but now i realize that ive got to do something about it and this is the perfect time tomorrow is the 2nd day of class Thanks

OK you need to relax. Don't come on too strong. Start off slow.

Start with HI, maybe even two or three days depending on how she says HI back.

Then say Whats your name.

After she responds tell her your name.

Then ask her what she thinks about the math class.

Then tell her what you think. - Try not to aruge with her.

Then say I'm new to school and I don't have a lot of friends. But I would enjoy helping you with your math homework if you needed it or working on it together.


You can't expect a girlfriend right off the bat. In fact I think your doing this very smart.

You need to be direct and honest. If she bites she could be your strongest assest. And if she doesn't then you can try it on a different person who will.

Hey man good for you. I would try to talk to as many ppl as you can just short conversations and try to pick something relevent to talk about so you can get confortable interacting with as many people as possible. Try your luck talking to the cute girl your interested in you will at least learn something. Just be as calm and as confident as you can goodluck!

the janitor rearranged the desks so that they would be in clusters of 4 luckily i got to class about 15mins early put my back pack on a chair and left, when i came back the girl that i was talking about walked into the room i smiled and made eye contact and asked her to polity move because i couldnt see the board, she moved her desk right beside mine and then i introduced me to herself.

Is this an IOI??? Or just friendly talk?

every time i look at her she smiles and looks we look at each other for a few seconds, she didnt bring a calculator to class so i lent my extra one to her so im getting some brownie points, we had to write a quiz and i didnt know if she was good or bad a math so i was shy to ask her how she did in case she thinks some people are too judgmental, she started talking to me about how the fan is so annoying, and she asked how i did on my math test ( usually id ask a girl this but after reading, i really dont want to put her into an uncomfortable zone and go into interview mode )

The carrot game worked! we got let out 30mins early and i saw this 8 that was walking into the parking lot towards the exit i asked her if she was in my class class she said yeah i introduced her and then said hey before you leave i want to try a little game..

i reached into my left pocket (already prepped a piece of paper with carrot written on it)

as she walked out the door i told her to open it to her surprised it was carrot, and she walked away smiling..(will this leave a good impression? should i call her carrot girl from now on?)
