Hey,

This is the sleep eight times a day for 30 mins thing. I was wondering if anyone had given it a try? I'd love to hear an experts opinion on whether it is worthwhile or not.

Haven't tried it but I did recently go through my own sleep deprivation program lasting 6 days before I conked out :D.

I did find that the last day I was wide awake mentally but physically I was fucked.

Now I do feel less dependent on sleep and I know I can pull off longer hours if needed (generally, it is needed, haha).

Interesting. While in school I had once gone 3 days without sleep on projects. I was operating like a machine, not a great feeling. Now I go without sleep sometimes for a day or say 36 hours but again not the greatest feeling.

The 8 hours sleep that is recommended if starts before mid night is much more relaxing than if you start after mid night. I learned this on a flight from someone and then tried it and felt the difference.

Don't do it its stupid shit. I have a friend who tried to do it last semester. Once he got into the grove of it, he was moderatly ok. But it fucked him up so badly in the long run. He ended taking this semester off. He is just sitting at home doing nothing this semester.

I read a study a while ago where they deprived they made subjects follow a messed up sleep schedule. At first they were hella tired, but after they adjusted the subjects reported that they didn't feel tired enough. Although subjects felt normal, they all scored significantly lower on cognitive functioning tests.

So it short, to me this is just a stupid get rich quick type scheme.
