If you mean my answer, that's just a narrow analogical meaning applied to the riddle. My answer was stated in PUA terms. If you accept that answer as true, or if you accept any other previous answer as true, then you haven't learned anything new, merely confirmed what you already know.

In other words, you come here with your cup full, and you'll never learn anything new, unless you empty your cup.

Struggle harder and come to the chat room! Spending an hour on this riddle is worth it. TRUST me.

Nothing lasts forever. Everything perishes. Humility is key.

Not sure what "they" did but "you" didn't come to a realization yet. If you want to try this, then you're already on the right path. "I can't think of anything . . . " IS in fact the correct path. In fact, getting pissed off a little is the right path.

It's in fact when you STOP trying to understand it, you will solve it.

Getting yourself a freebie answer through the help of others will give you a "eureka" moment. However, you won't benefit much from this. A cerebral answer is completely different from an understanding that comes from awareness.

Have fun . . .

On the other hand, "Stop trying to understand" is not the same as "giving up."

Thats true but he is screwed whatever he does (unless he hates his parents). So what I mean is that shit happens. There is nothing he can do about it. He will have to accept that he is buggered and take it like a man. Thats why I think that it is unsolvable. He is not meant to solve the riddle. He is supposed to learn to take shit.

Shit happens but it doesn't necessarily mean anybody is screwed. "We're screwed . . . so let's not act and take it in good spirits . . . " isn't the mindset of an aware being.

Is the boy allowed to ask the monkey why? That seems like a bad thing for the monkey to say since he doesnt do it to save his life, he does it not for his own benefit.

Maybe the monkey is lying. If the boy accepts what the monkey says he is being "played" or manipulated by the monkey. If the monkey is indeed telling the truth and the boy rejects it as a lie he is indeed screwed. But no matter what he chooses he is screwed anyway. So the only difference it makes as to whether the monkey is telling the truth or not is that if the monkey is lying the boy will not risk anything. So he might as well play his own game.

In any case, if the boy refuses to play along he has maybe lost one of his parents but at least he has done so on his terms. He has refused to be a part of a monkeys sadistic game. He has used his free will.

He shouldnt let the monkey drag him into his "frame", doing so only makes him afraid of making decisions. The fear is only real if he accepts what the monkey tells him.

Kill the monkey, bury him in the mexican desert, then kidnap all his friends and family, put them in a burning car with 30 pounds of C4, now there is no one left to kill your family.
Damn monkeys always causing trouble!
I still claim that I solved it before, but anyways....

The monkey is simply a mental block for the boy, the monkey is just his imagination just like any mental issue you have ever came across in your PU career.

Just ignore the monkey, go to the super market and buy chicken or some other REAL food and move on with your damn life.

Eating monkeys? What kinda savages came up with this?

If this was my thread, I would have PM'd you at this point.

Does anybody here think the monkey decided to chew the fat with the boy because he was "allowed" to do this?

The monkey is having a dream?

Now I'm the king of the swingers
Oh, the jungle VIP
I've reached the top and had to stop
And that's what botherin' me
I wanna be a man, mancub
And stroll right into town
And be just like the other men
I'm tired of monkeyin' around!

Oh, oobee doo
I wanna be like you
I wanna walk like you
Talk like you, too
You'll see it's true
An ape like me
Can learn to be humen too

(Spoken)
Gee, cousin Louie
You're doin' real good

Now here's your part of the deal, cuz
Lay the secret on me of man's red fire

But I don't kknow how to make fire

(Sung)
Now don't try to kid me, mancub
I made a deal with you
What I desire is man's red fire
To make my dream come true
Give me the secret, mancub
Clue me what to do
Give me the power of man's red flower
So I can be like you

You!
I wanna be like you
I wanna talk like you
Walk like you, too
You'll see it's true
Someone like me
Can learn to be
Like someone like me
Can learn to be
Like someone like you
Can learn to be
Like someone like me!

Either of the two outcomes is unacceptable to the boy. So he remains in a paralyzed state of fear and indecision, trying to think and reason his way to an answer. You can't "arrive" at an "answer" using logic here. The only thing to do is accept what is and draw focus away from what might be in the future (the death of one of his parents). Don't focus on possible outcomes and reason away your ability to function in the present moment.

Also, the first thing I thought of was: The monkey trapped the boy in an agonizing, neverending thinking spell... broke up his patterns. Boy starts thinking about the situation. Monkey runs away. It's useful to have tools available to break up other peoples' patterns, whether if they're pointing a deadly weapon at you or running a bitch shield ;)
