We all know that gym openers are hard and any of you guys who are serious in the gym know that an HB serious about being in shape shouldn't be bothered during her weightlifting session anyway. Cardio, on the other hand, is a different story. It's very mind-numbing and it doesn't require the person's full attention dedicated to the intensity of the exercise (like weights should). Therefore, during cardio, HB's should be really be delighted to chat with someone to make the time pass.

Well as you know, we're all stuck with the age-old dilemma of how to get her headphones off without looking like a tool.

Here's what I did the other day and it worked brilliantly:

There's an HB 8 on the elliptical and I get on the one right next to her. She is listening to her ipod and has her BlackBerry right next to it, propped up on the display. I am listening to Pandora on my BlackBerry (you can download the mobile version as an icon directly on your BB desktop; works great). I open up my memo pad icon and open up a new blank sheet. On the blank sheet, I type, "Did you know you can listen to Pandora on your BlackBerry?" I then disconnect my BlackBerry from my headphones and place it on her display right in front of her. She reads it and smiles immediately. She takes her headphones off and says, "No way!! I love Pandora. I'm sick of this same ol' shit on my ipod, blah blah blah." I chatted her up for the next 30 minutes and then number closed her.

I guess this will only work if you get next to a chick with a ipod and a blackberry during cardio but if you go to the gym most days a week, like myself, you spot it more then you'd think.

Sweet dood. They totally zone out sometimes. Awesome way to get their attention.

I wonder if I can do the same with my Nokia

I was at the gym last week and tried something similar. Got on the treadmill next to her (HB7) and leaned over, changed her TV channel to the kids channel. Got a massive smile and number close.

I actually did this in church last Sunday to a random chick I sat by too. When the paster is talking and it would be rude to whisper to her, I typed something on my BB and put it in her lap. She opened me after the service but she was like an HB7 and I didn't want to really fuck with her. I was just more so doing it for practice.
