Definitely depends upon the crowd, I've found that Mash-Up Artists are great for a pre-game, loose, comfortable setting (Girl Talk, Super Mash Bros. start there). If you know your girl is smarter, she might enjoy jazz (Miles Davis, Coltrane of course but many others).

If you are looking to make yourself feel good, go with what you like and what gets your blood moving. For me, its hip hop/rock with hard bass and an uptempo, heavy beat (The Renegades Mixtape ft Jay-Z + Eminem, Lil Wayne n Kevin Rudolf songs, anything Ludacris among others work well for me)
