Practically to sum it up:

Last night went out clubbing and my mate was already on the dance floor, walks upto some random chick and says
Guy: "how much does a polar bear weigh?"
HB: "i duno"
Guy: "Enough to break the ice."
Guy: "isn't that the lamest joke you ever heard?"

they talk for about another 20 seconds start grinding against eachother then kiss close stright away.

While it's some of the weakiest game you'll ever see...it works. this type of kiss close is just one of those typical ones you see the regular guys go out to clubs and jump on the dance floor and kiss whoever they can and probably never see them or hear from them again after that one kiss, but if you get kciks out of that type of stuff, i guess all you need is weak game...

And I'm bamboozled that such a seemingly lame approach could lead anywhere, but hey, I'm not aware of all the factors at play here... such as what happened immediately after the opener.

That shit was lame, but he was probably oozing with confidence..

the opener is not important...it's not about what you say...it's how you say it...the key here is the non verbal game (body language)....as he was delivering the opener he done it with kino and escalated from there,she felt comfortable cause he made it seem natural and his confidence didn't make him look like a perv....that's the other key 2 mins in the interation she new he had done it before which made her more relaxed to enjoy the ride,no girl wants to be an experiment
