I was a groomsman in a wedding (awwwww yeah!) and me and one other guy were the only single ones. Of course we announced this in funny ways and became the life of the party. And I mean LIFE of the party!

I started out getting kids to dance on the dance floor with me. Starting a train. Found a HUGE table of single girls and got them all to dance around me. The night was AWESOME.

The last song ended up being a slow song. So I got a girl to dance with me:

[HB10 - seriously]: So what're you guys doing tonight after this?
[ME]: I really want to see this football game. What're you doing tonight?
[HB10]: Well a bunch of us girls are going to my house to watch wedding movies...
[ME]: Woooowwww.... That sounds really lame and overly girlish...
[HB10]: Hahahah, yeah I know.....
[ME]: Well I can guarantee to bring a couple of guys over if you promise to let us watch football for a little bit
[HB10]: Ohhhhh we might have to change our plans for that...

So I got her number so I could get directions to her place.

I waited a little while after the party and rounded up a few guys to head over there. I call her and she doesn't answer! I felt embarrassed because all the guys got to see my 'A' game and thought I was the man because I got us invited to an all single girls' house...

So I called one more time and she didn't answer. So we all went to a bar to watch the football game. And I texted her:

[ME]: Can't believe you ditched us tonight. It's ok have your girls night and we'll take pictures of all the fun we would have had
[HB10]: Sorry! we dont have girls nights that often anymore. i have to take them when i can. it was god to meet you! see you soon.
[ME]: Don't think your smiley face will win my forgiveness... I've heard nothing but bad things about you from [a friend of ours]. I was hoping to prove her wrong haha have a good night and we'll talk soon
[HB10]: oh that [friend of ours]. cant trust anything that comes out of her mouth. Have a good night.

I'm thinking that she told the girls and they all talked her out of it.....
Maybe she wasn't interested....
But this would be indeed my first rejection or flaking - but I got her number!

and what about the whole "see you soon. " ---- is that her way of saying she's interested but she can't be right now bc her friends are around?

If I wait a few days, do I have a chance with her if I call her or text her and try to set something up?

I can either:

call her out again in a text and ask her to hang out but make fun of how she might flake

-or-

I could send a funny text (because my team lost the football game) saying something from the initial meet: "the way that football game turned out, i almost would have rather watched wedding movies with y'all... but i'm a guy i'll never admit that "

I just can't read her as to why she flaked (maybe the girls did talk her out of it) and why should would text "see you soon "

Any suggestions?

In my opinion...you gotta take anything a woman says with a grain of salt.

Seems you took her invite a little too seriously/literally..I mean come on, bro. How's she gonna look like infront of her girls when you come barging in with your guy friends (strangers) expecting to watch a football game and mingle with her friends. It's just not realisitc! Not trying to be mean..Just offering some perspective....

If she say's girls night out, I tell her to "party on wayne" and to lemmy know how it turned out. If she calls to fill you in, you're in. If not....meh. Who cares. Use the knowledge you gained when you got her number and recreate the senario some other night

As far as what you should do now...Call her bluff! Is she into you or does she just like the attention?!
Call her and say...
you: "Hey how was your girls night?" (...She responds..)

you: "Sounds like good times! I want to make this quick because I have a (anything that requires you to get off the phone in the next two min) I made a reservation for two at this GREAT (your fave cuisine) spot in town for friday at 7. I think it'll be a great way for us to get to know each other a little more. I'll even let you pick the wine!"

That right there...drives them nuts. I do it ALL the time. Never fails. It shows confidence (that you know they're gonna say yes) it shows class, balls, initiative and leadership (you planned a night for you two to get to know each other...on your terms.) It says..you're a go getter. You're not afraid to get shut down. You take risks!...

In case she say's no...keep it simple.. "well thats too bad then. I thought things would work out for us! Have wonderful night!..." keep it classy! give her a chance to respond. She might say..."Thanks! bye!" or "oh but i do want to see you!" then you tell her that the balls in her court and that you gotta go (remember you're under a time constraint!)...then CLICK!
