| I'm staying with my folks for the Thanksgiving break who live about forty five minutes from Savannah. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot going on where they live so I decided to go out with them to the Mall on the busiest day of the year for shopping to see if I can get some approaches in and overall gain some confidence.
I was expecting this place to be completely different from Washington, but I was still a bit surprised. I find a department store named Dillards because I was actualy trying to buy some new cologne. I picked out two and scoped a blonde lookin at some boots which happened to be right next to the cologne section.
I ran an opinion opener and asked her for advice. She resonded positively and smiled and leaned in as I gave her two cards to smell. She suggested the one in my right hand and asked what it is.
Me: "Can you keep a secret?"
HB: "Yeah"
ME: "Well, so can I."
I figured it was going well because she was still standing there a good five seconds, and didn't just take off. Well, she had a boyfriend and he came pretty quick and was pretty pissed off.
BF "Why are you hitting on my gf?"
ME "I was just askin her opinion."
BF "Bulshit."
Me "Hey lady, thanks for your help I gotta get back to my friends."
I walked away and I heard them talking in the distance, her explaining that I was just asking for help- nothing more. That guy was a chump.
I scoped out the mall entirely.It was a pretty nice looking mall, despite all the crappy stores. I dress in mostly Urban Outfitters flanels and semi-skinny jeans- and I looked extremely out of place there. There were no stores that carried anything I was really lookin to buy clothing wise so I found it hard to be browsing for clothes and try to pickup.
I went into one store that seemed to be more popular for people my age and opened a cute employee.
me "Hey, I was told that this is a good place to buy clothes."
HB "Well, we have good hoodies."
Me "I have a lot of hoodies. What else do you have?"
She hesitated a minute kinda thinking and I stood there rocking back as if I was gonna walk away.
HB "Ugh, I guess we have cool graphic shirts."
Me "C'mon lady, You guess? Show me."
I speak in a very sarcastic asshole type voice, but nothing that I would say comes off as truley hurtful.
She went and showed me a few and I glanced over them.
Me "Well I aint really feeling them. BUT HEY, I'll give a high five for trying."
I high fived her, and she smiled.
Me "I gotta get back to my friends, thanks for all your help lady."
I didn't get too many approaches in, a lot of AA. I didn't know if it was because I was in a completely unfamiliar area, or what. I ejected pretty early on that set in the clothing store, and looking back I should of stayed and tried some more things. Even if it turned out terrible, I figured I Could at least get some reps in.
Maybe I'll try a different part of town tomorrow.
