Style tips for guys with long hair

I got long hair, and I know that when not kept in good shape your long hair can make you look like your everyday regular asshole. I got a good stylist, who knows what he is doing, but I have a hard time telling him what I want.


I'm looking for some of you to tell me how you style it and have it cut.

I'd appreciate links to pics.

Well, what does your hair look like now? Having a starting point would make it much easier to decide what might be a good look for you. Face shape plays a lot into how hairstyles look on people. A hairstyle on somebody with thin cheekbones and gaunt features will not look the same one someone with round cheeks and round features just because they both have long hair.

My hair is light brown and naturally strait. Kind of looks like David Spade style ( http://purplewisdom.wordpress.com/2009/ ... ool-style/ ) I'm eastern European and random people have said I look like Sean Penn.

Hopefully that's something to make a recommendation from.
