Posts: 41 | | This is also a response i gave to a guy who wanted to know what to do when the group he finds himself in goes into a topic he doesnt know anything about:
- my reaction would be to say to them - 'hey now thats just rude, i can't relate to that; at LEAST tell me the story' - they tell you and both you and they immediately feel more intergrated into their social circle
- but to really make it effective listen to the story for a while and get the groups opinion on it (for example jenny slept with jerry - what a BITCH!) then when theyre telling you the story subtly echo their opinions back to them - great for building rapport with the whole group.
