Basically, I can talk with women no problem, i can walk into a bar and give it the smile talk and look the part. I can then talk to girls make a joke about how ' the barmen looks a bit tired or something which usually gets interest. I can generally chat women up ok. However, As the women gets more attractive they create there own hurdles you need to jump. For example banter, they will tease you back and I then fall a little short. When i try to banter i only feel like i would insult them haha.

I think you're on the right path...try just smiling and laughing more, when you throw the insult...make it playful.

Also, I don't know if you're already doing this, but kino!
Kino seems to be much stronger than anything you can say.
Touch is important.
If she throws something your way, and you don't know a proper response, then just say something like, "oh man! you're too much for me. i'll be back when i have a witty response!" give her a big hug, or something, and just walk away and game another girl.
...go back to the other girl later and just be like, "i told you i'd be back!"

or just work on your banter. it'll come with practice.
don't be afraid to break contact with someone though. that alone shows dominant male status.

Practice.

And pretend they are your best friend. You won't feel nervous about it.
