Just thought I would get your opinion on this, I have a good friend who is bi (but mostly swings toward girls), we're just good friends, nothing going on between us. I've just moved and she's the only person I really know here and we're going out together for the first time soon to a club. Just wondering what your take is on whether it will increase or decrease my chances of picking up?

It might be good to have a girl with me cos it shows that I'm not a creep (I'm not! ), but also girls might think it's my girlfriend...

Any experience with this (going out with another girl who is not your girlfriend, guess it doesn't really matter as to her sexual preference..)? And if not, what do you speculate?

Depends. It won't do you any harm with meeting people (in fact, it will help, social proof and all that) but going Sarging without her knowing what's going on might harm your friendship with her. Also, if its just you two, she may get pissed at you deserting her.

Some girl mates of mine would be pretty offended if they even knew I was posting here, others would leap at the chance to help me out. Use your judgement, but if your new in town and she's your only mate at the moment, I'd be careful not to do anything to alienate that.
