Me- Who would win in a fight a smurf or a cat?
Her- What? (surprised but smiling)
Me- Repeat question
Her- Definately a smurf
Me- Really?? (surprised look)

I move to her friend

Me- repeat question to her
Her- smurf (laughs)

We then have abit more banter discussing who would do better in a fight and why. One of the friends starts to dance with other people so im just left me and the other one.

I use some more canned material

Me- What do you think of men who wear skinny scarves on a nightout?
Her- I think they look good
Me- Well i thought that but i wore one out on saturday and got hit on by like 3 guys
Her- laughs
Me- So im starting to think they might look abit gay
Her- no they look good

I am very new to sarging but the last few nights ive tried stuff out and had alot of success with talking to girls and opening. Now the problem is that once i have opened and used 2-3 bits of canned material i have no real clue how to escalate it and keep her occupied, very soon the conversations become awkward and i just have to leave

Feedback on the above approach would be good

What can you do to escalate the conversation and keep it going?

Canned material will only get you so far.

After that, it's about having her open up, and talk about herself (because everybody's favorite subject is themselves)

When she opens up and starts talking about herself, that's when you start the negs.

Funny - I just read your FR, then picked up the Mystery Method book to finish it up.
After a few minutes, I reached page 176, which discusses "Grounding." I think this is just what you need, and two aspects in particular: Getting the girl to open up as you ground her (179)...and...coaxing the girl to ground you when she tells you about her life (178).
