A couple of things. First off girls online are not messed up. One of the problems with online is that when you send a message it is much harder covey humor. What you said to the girl was more insulting and mean. I know you said you meant it in a funny way. But you didn't even put a smile face at the end. So you ended up being mean to the girl. Secondly when you talk to girls online most will be on the defensive as they get a ton of guys objectifying them and rude messages. So girls are going to be way more hesitant and what have you when it comes to talking to people, and especially meeting them. Yes there are girls there that are online just for the ego boosts and what have you. But not all girls are like that.

Yeah dude that is kinda sad.... Think to yourself, what were you trying to accomplish by saying that? Trying to get her attention? How is that usefull if she notices you as "that insulting ...blah blah blah...."
