You: Im thinking about doing some stand up, cause people allways tell me how they laugh around me. But they are my friends you know, so I thought I'd just try one stupid joke on some people I havent talked to before.

Set: Well, okey.

You: Here goes, quick joke. The I'll leave you alone.
(make eye-contact with with target)
Wait a sec. Are you paying attention? (threw in a neg depending on situation.)

So my little sister comes home from school one day and my dad ask her if they have started "Sexual education" yet in school. All parents recieved a letter saying they would have it. So my sister takes a deep breath and looks at my dad and says the following:
"Oh Dad, I didnt see this coming. What is that you wanne know?"

Set: Haha..

You: So what did you think. Would this work? Bla bla

Then transition into topics like hobbies, fear of being on a stage or whatever fits.

feels a bit DHV-ish to me.

I don't think pulling jokes just like that is a good way to approach a set, it will make you come off as a goof,
If you still have to do it use a better joke, sorry but that one was a bit low...

If you're funny, don't make direct jokes. Just inject humour into the conversation naturally. And remember, NEVER laugh at your own jokes. In fact, if you can remain deadpan while you deliver a funny, it'll intrigue the girls more as they won't be sure whether to laugh or not.
