well heres a way that you can give one with evidence
enter the bar and make your way accross the bar to the back, saying hello and introducing yourself to sets on your way making sure there are guys in the set if need be,
once at the back talk to people, be natural but dont be in a rush,
this part needs a prop, a cigerette and a lighter. (doesnt work in places where you can smoke inside)
take out a cig and the lighter and make your way accross the bar and open like you normally would, but this time your false time constraint isnt leaving the bar, its going out for a smoke which with the cig and lighter in hand is a lot more believable.
becareful, and i say this because it will back fire if you dont have the technique to get around it, smoking displays low S-and-R value so you need tight game for the ones that despise smoking!
my own personel technique for when they say some comment about how bad smokers are is reply with:
"smoking is bad but i only do it on days that end in y, and the longer you keep me here talking the few i am going to smoke....your probably saving my life right now, feels good right?"
you get a few laughs and the approach can now progress as normal!

always keep mints and a small pocket size spray to smell nice again after a cig, nothing worse than having tight game and the smell of smoke being what kills your set, it can destroy you before you even get the a2 folks _________________ peace, love and empathy

Excellent tip and yeah i don't re-light my cigs, the smell is horrible, and if you keep doing that in front of targets it projects a lack of money, but if you don't have much money and that's why you re-light your cigs don't use a half cig for this set

I'm not a smoker but I could see how it would work. I like the follow up line you had too. I guess if you sarged a set not at the bar you could use going to get a drink the same way and use the line also but change to talk about alcohol.
