after the you approach and throw out the opener wut do u guys do next? do u address the friends and ignore the target? neg the target? or start tellin the group a story about sumthin?

I'm having the same issues...
The thing I've figured out is you need to build rapport somewhere. I usually ask an openner that makes them think and question themselves and their friends. Every openner I ask I show interest in what they say and nod and ask questions about what they say.
Anyway, after the openner, buld rapport by analyzing what they've said. I like to follow up with, "Are you into psychology at all? I just learned this great personality test called the cube have you heard of it?" -- "No, what's that?" -- "I'll show you, but I warn you, it can reveal a lot about yourself you might not want to know. Are you sure you want to try?" They're usually always interested and curious now. "It's a bit too loud to do it here, so maybe we all could go somewhere quieter so I can evaluate you."
See how that all works,
Develop rapport, and remember that Rapport = Trust + Comfort.
Look for IOI's and use negs wisely.
Display higher value by using psychology routines, card tricks, and things like that.
It never hurts to throw a little fluff in their. Talking about her life and who she is, and who you are, are good ways to make her feel comfortable, and develop KINOS.

I will usually open with my floss opener, then after I get there answer, I would kino with some pinky love XD, then I would tell a dhv story about my cousin who I help remind to floss after. Then i would neg my target. After I would be like so do you beleive in esp? I would then pick a number from 1 to 4, once she has I would multiple thread into what did you want to be when you where seven. Then i would dhv with what i wanted to be, throw some kino. Then I would tell her number, from there I would multi thread into pick a number from 1 to 10, then I would multi thread into if she has a job, with her answer I would neg by saying, you dont look like the working type, and I would dhv by saying I volunteer at this library reading to little kids. Then i would tell her the number she picked. From there I would decide if i build enough attraction to number close, if I had then I might number close, or keep going at try for the kiss close.

Never use a neg directly after the opener (i've learned that the hard way... haha). Try to get to know at least one part of her: where's she from, why she's where she is (bar, club, etc.) or whatever else you can find out about her. Build rapport as others have said. Finding interest in what they have to say and finding a way to connect yourself to it is a great way of doing this. Be natural though, don't try too hard to be interested in something you're really not.

Ok, the trick to becoming a good pick up artist is to not be afraid to crash and burn (i.e. fail) once in a while.

Try this routine next time:

PUA "Hi how are you?"
HB: Bla bla
PUA "What's your name"
HB: Bla bla
PUA *Compliment her for something*
HB Blabbeti bla bla
PUA *ask her a question that involves her oppinion* (ask a fun question, don't ask her about 9/11 or something stupid like that)

Do you realize what this is? a normal conversation between two people who just met. Learn to crawl before you can walk. You have to be able to maintain a normal conversation in order to start using PUA "tricks" without social skills all your routines will be worthless and you will sound like a taperecorder.
When you have mastered the art of conversation you can progress!

This is not meant as a Cocky Funny joke towards you, I'm serious, try that routine 20 times one night at a club or a mall or whatever and see where it takes you!!
