This article will be going through the phases an average PUA goes through until achieving mastery.

Phase 1: The Blind Ego, The False Determination
Phase 2: The Lone Period
Phase 3: The Exaggerator, The Addict
Phase 4: The Natural Success Period

Phase 1: The Blind Ego, The False Determination
At this point, one is APPROXIMATELY into 1-6 months of PUA training.

Current PUA Value: Only the strongest survive. Women can be easily manipulated via the sciences of attraction.

He is a social robot, addicted to canned routines, methods, and concepts. The stuff he's doing is working, but his inner game is still weak for he does not understand the true value of PUA.
He is breaking PUA down into an exact science. Overanalyzing situations, and he has no morals.

Phase 2: The Lone Period
After APPROXIMATELY 6 months-1 year.

Current PUA Value: Women are easily manipulated. Science is the solution to fixing one's life problems.

Due to his phase of being a social robot asshole, he loses many of his old friends. He makes some new targets, along with a lot of guys. He starts familiarizing himself with the world of PUA. He knows all the terms, he knows the science. Yet, he still has a feeling of loneliness inside him. He has yet to find out the true value of PUA.

Phase 3: The Exaggerator, The Addict
After about APPROXIMATELY a year - 2 years

Current PUA Value: Love is important. All problems can be solved via science and focus.

At this point, one finally realizes that being an asshole isn't exactly the coolest thing. He still relies on the methods. Probably has gotten a lot of nice closes by now. Slowly he matures. Things are going well for the most part, but whenever the slightest problem arises, he freaks out and goes back to PUA science to rationalize it.

Phase 4: The Natural Success Period
After APPROXIMATELY 1.5 years- 3 years.

Current PUA Value: The point of life is to be happy. Almost nothing is a big deal.

By now, one is a "master" of PUA. He's been through it all and he knows what to do and everything. He doesn't focus on canned routines anymore. He is almost not a PUA anymore. He doesnt care about PUA's concepts and sciences. He just wants to have fun living a normal life. He is done copying what others do and he has his own life stories to tell. He has a great social life, and nothing seems that big of a problem anymore. He has grown up to be a true man.

Stick with this, try to find out where you are now and what it takes to move on to the next phase.

Notice how I added "approximately" to all the timeframes. For some, the phases may take several years to achieve as where others may get it within a few months.

and how do naturals fit into this/ people who don't become social robots etc?
Personally I have never gone through phase 1-3 and I am not totally sure I fit into phase 4
Its good, and is probably how a lot of guys go through PUA stuff, but I think its trying to tar all with one brush

phase 4 would be natural. you dont worry about the stuff social robots focus on.
simple natural game.

also, a PUA doesnt always have to start on Phase 1. if he already has many social skills and experience, he may as well start on 2, 3, or 4.

I teach a series of 21 archetypal phases that a PUA goes through like this in my workshops, and then take the students on a journey through the whole thing.

That being said, I think your theory of phases isn't generalizable enough and is too simplified. There are many roads to mastery, and everyone takes a different amount of time in their development.

interesting... I do something similar also... though what I'd call "phase 1" would I guess be "phase 5" in this model (you stop before it)... but I guess thats the difference between natural game and natural midset.

Wow, yeah, I just started and I'm overanalyzing everything.

This list is YOUR opinion/ YOUR phases, but it's still pretty accurate.

I was a natural before all of this but now I do it mainly because I like theories/ logic any ways, so this is fun for me.

Doesn't matter what stage your at the more you practice the quicker you progress.

Exellent post, but i agree with Chief,
i've just started the whole PUA thing, and i don't think i fit into any of the categories you've listed here.

i think it really depends on how aggressively you incorporate being a PUA into your life. if you block out everything else, you'll probably follow these steps, but like Joker said, if you just mix it into your everyday life, the change from afc to pua can happen without you really noticing.

Come on guys, it is a simplified model. Of course it is not gonna fit everyone, there are too many factors. Everyone can be classified but everyone also progress in different ways. Some have problems with this, some with that, it is not possible to make a list. You just have to approximate more or less where you are. This is not a teaching but a way of giving you the chance to estimate how far along you are and how much more work you need.

also dont forget the fact that people learn to socialize even without PUA.

if you are someone who's already pretty socially normal, then you may start off in a different 'phase' and head a different route, but the destination will always be the same for all of us.
