Hi, ive only just joined the forum, but i've been reading it for a while and i must say it has helped a lot so far! so thanks very much. But if this has already been covered or its in the wrong bit please just let me know and i'll sort it.

So i met this HB at a gig, got chatting and managed to get her facebook details, we got chatting on there and arranged to meet up this weekend, swapped numbers etc. all going quite well. The only problem is, she's polish and even though her english is fairly good, its not the best, sometimes i have to reword things. I was just wondering when i do go and meet her again, if anyone has any tips to make sure theres no awkward moments or we don't talk much because of the language barrier.

Don't get me wrong, her english is brilliant really, and we can easily have a chat, but maybe the humour, sarcasm or innocent cockiness we sometimes like to use won't quite come across as it was intended. So im just looking for other ways to create comfort and make sure its not one big awkward mess really. Im assuming kino will be a big one. Are there any other tips to try and make sure it goes as smoothly as possible.

Don't worry about it. Language barriers are the cutest thing. Expectations for what is funny automatically drops, the fact that you both understand a simple joke at all seems to make it all the more funny, if you know what I mean, like you appreciate it more. And you have to rely on more fundamental feelings, body language, expressions - this in itself is all something to work with.

Don't try and fit a square peg in a round hole by looking for ways to "work around" this "problem", use it for what it is.

Kino is a completely seperate thing and is not affected by language. You should still use your same judgement as you would any other girl, don't use language barrier as a reason to do more or less.
