Watch the whole thing. He talks about EXPRESSING YOURSELF through martial arts. Guess what. You are expressing yourself through PICK Up arts.

Pick up arts is a game. And like any game, you can call it a sport.

A really good sport athlete knows, that he can not think when he is playing.
A tenis player can not think where to hit the ball. He is the ball.
And when you are operating from that view, you are than operating in a flow state.

When I learned that, I started my routine in getting into the flow state. Find out how you can get into your flow state. Center yourself. Empty your mind.

Like great Bruce Lee said:
"Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless. "

There is no actor, only action. Dont DO, only BE.

This is what we need to become, when we go out sarging. The sarge has to be an expression of us. Not a routine.

if you've read eckhart tolle's the power of now it resonates with that idea of being shapeless and formless and its such a powerful idea.

if you can simply be, and adjust in the present situation or moment then you have acheived enlightenment of a sort. things of the past do not dictate your present actions and neither do those of the future. being in the now is all you can be if you think logically because the past is gone, the future is not here all you are left with is the present moment in which to be and do.

back to bruce lee the guy is so interesting to listen to due to his passion and conviction and enthusiam with which he talks. i plan on buying his book at some point.
