Before hand you could write down some non-generic questions you can ask her in case the conversation continues.
Another thing you could do would be to start getting acquainted with some of the other people she knows, while ignoring her for a while. This should increase you value in her mind.
But if your new at this i would advise just going in rambo style on her so that you get over your fears. Don't worry if you lose this one, there are plenty more.
