| I watched wedding crashers for the first time in a long time tonight and it sort of brought me a couple of conclusions about what we do, or are trying to do. The first thing I must say about the movie is that although scripted, those guys were good, I mean if you ever needed a wing or canned material, thats how you implement the stuff to a fucking T. Some of the stuff is a little corny, but the mechanics of it all are masterful. Back to my original thought, I realized that if any of us ever do become masters of our trade, we still are victim to one-itis. I feel that its inevitable that we will all one day find that person who makes our lives feel complete. No matter whether you are in the game to get laid, to feel socially accepted or just to have a certain power and confidence to your everyday life, all the practice in the world cannot save us from emotion. I also truly believe that it is the AFC in all of us that will be our saving grace when this moment does arise. Just like at the end of wedding crashers, when Owen Wilson busts into Vince Vaughns wedding, honesty and speaking from your heart is what won the girl. No amount of canned material will help you through a situation like that and this is why we must not loose who we truly are. I think that we can easily get lost in this whole gaming scene and become something we are not, we are not naturals, we are those who work hard towards something we are passionate about and I feel this passion should not be the exploitation of women, but the love of women. We should not end up like Claires douchebag fiancé, who was an asshole throughout the movie and only had the girl because of his looks and his overconfidence, someone who had lost all respect for women because of his success in life. As much as we would all love to have the kind of ability to manipulate women with ease, we should not abuse the power. I truly believe our saving grace is that at somepoint in life, we have all been let down, hurt and emotionally broken. We know what its like to be on the loosing end of matters of the heart and we should never have to put someone in that position intentionally. I guess I didn’t really come to as many conclusions as i thought initially, but with all the game in my head, you start looking at things differently.
Hope to get some traffic on this one, Game on guys!
