Don't wait for an obstacle to have to ask the set who you are. Let's assume the obstacle is someone that the set knows. e.g. not an AMOG cold approaching the set.
As soon as you notice he enters and your girls address him or acknowledge him, you say to the girl, "hellooooo, introduce me to your friend, it's the polite thing to do." If, on the other hand, the girls complete ignore him, you can ignore him too.
Whatever you do, don't come off defensive or antagonistic. It makes you look like you have a huge scarcity mentality and that you're trying to take ownership of the girls even though you've just met them.
This is what I usally do.
What happend in this situation was that a friend of theirs came up behind
me and I didn't see her. So she was allready going "Who's this guy?" from behind me.
I found that its not very good to seem like I HAVE TO TELL a certain story.
And being to eager and insisting on going back to finish it.
I've learnt alot on this since writing this post, and now
I rather cut the thread and talk about something else
and create a certain "I must know"-feeling inside them.
Then I make them do a spin or kiss on me on the cheek - later on rewarding them with finishing the story. And that works great.

And by the way, I must say, reading my own original post now. I dont understand half of the stuff of I was saying. Hopes this makes it clearer.
