I'm finally getting an apartment with my own room (privacy YES) and only one roommate sadly (my best bud and possible future wingman if I ever get him into the game).
Anyway, thing is the place is about 5 mins walking distance from campus and I probably wont know a soul there. So what can I do to establish good relations there?
It's a group of three big houses, with about 6 apartments each. Not too many ppl I figure.
My best idea was to have a end of summer barbecue within the first month of living there and invite everyone. Parties in the apartment I'm not sure are such a good idea, my roommate is very AFC and I'm not keen on getting my stuff stolen.
Any suggestions/comments on what to do? either one time things or things I should do all the time like say hi?

If you really wanna get in with people on campus, join an organization of some kind. Maybe a school club, try out for a sports team if you are good enough. Some people bag on frats but that's because there are some d-bags who give them a bad name. There are some cool individuals in them, perhaps that's more up your alley? _________________ "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
